The Brother L14S sewing machine is designed specifically for basic dressmaking and alterations. Featuring great Brother build quality and user-friendliness, the L14S is a perfect introduction to sewing.
The clear manual explains all of the basic functions of the Brother L14S, but if you prefer a visual demonstration you can watch the included instructional DVD. Threading the machine is simple thanks to the automatic bobbin winder, clearly explained thread paths and top loading bobbin. Once threaded, use the stitch selection dial to choose one of the 14 stitch functions:-
- Straight stitch
- 6 variations of zig zag stitch including satin stitches
- Blind hem stitch
- Elastic stitch
- Stretch blind hem stitch
- Overedge stitch
- Double action stitch
- Bridging stitch
- 4 step buttonhole
When you've finished sewing, you can use the reverse sewing lever for back tacking and reinforcing seams. Removing the flat bed attachment enables you to sew cuffs, trouser legs and other awkward seams with ease. The flat bed attachment also doubles as a storage container, where you will find the accessories including a buttonhole foot, button sewing foot and buttonhole foot. These handy feet help you to insert zips and create professional looking button fasteners on your garments. You'll never struggle to see your creations thanks to the integrated LED sewing light - no more changing bulbs!
